while I will say everyone in his office was very polite, including him I would not recommend anyone use him for weight loss surgery. He has obviously never had proper training for the weight loss . I had the VGS done in July of 2016 and felt very defeated when 6 months later the only weight that was lost was the weight I lost while on a full liquid diet. This year around July I had a CT scan done and discovered that he had not removed the 50 to 80% of my stomach as discussed(and required for this surgery to work) he had removed 10% at best- meaning I basically have an entire stomach and there was no chance of the surgery working. This is not, I repeat is not a lone incident. I work with 2 other ladies who had the same surgery with him and they had not lost weight either. Upon receiving their CT scans they were both informed of the same results as me. We are all now seeing actual weight loss surgeons to have revisions. I strongly recommend that if you are looking to have weight loss surgery you use a bariatric center and a doctor who has been properly trained. My journey which I was so excited about became an emotional nightmare. I have in the last year heard many of the same failure stories all patients of Dr. lackey I wish I had done better research before using him.
For my first two visit I sat in the waiting room for almost 45 minutes each time and then was taken back to a room and waited in the empty room for an hour each time. On my third visit I requested an appointment time where I would not have to wait and was told 1pm right after lunch would be good. This time I sat for 25 minutes in the waiting room and after sitting in a hot office room for another 45 minutes and still not seeing anyone I walked out. 2 days later I got a call to reschedule my appointment. No questions asked as to why I walked out. I said if your question is only to reschedule and you are not asking about what happen then forget it. I don't want to go here at all. POOR Service, Communication, and they never helped me.
I have know Dr Lackey Since 2013 He and his PA Lori Austin have been taking very good care of me. I have diabetes and have had to have many surgeries since 2013 They have provided me with these surgeries and done a very fantastic professional job in doing so. They are Kind and Polite and listen to your problems and then deal with them. I would recommend their services to anyone. They have turned out to be a blessing to me and in the process really good friends.
Everyone is knowledgeable and kind.... Dr Lackey takes his time and listens... Its a beautiful office by the water... So glad I chose Dr Lackey
